I have been in IT for many years. I was a systems programmer to start, but after I went back to graduate school I got involved in the early days of computing in the Humanities. My Ph.D. is in archaeology and I was very involved in getting students and faculty in the humanities interested in and using appropriate technology. As an archaeologist and now as a museum person, I am especially interested in data bases and how best to use them to serve all the people who would like to access the wonderful objects and information we have, but are not likely to gain access to the vaults.
